Deck walls.
This picture shows the walls of our deck while it is still undergoing construction. Spaces were deliberately placed in it to provide a lattice-like appearance. Despite having all of the spaces deliberately placed in the wall, our blocks securely interlock to each other and are very sturdy. Each of the blocks in this wall measure approximately eighteen inches long. The holes measure around nine inches long. While not visible in this picture, additional reinforcement of the wall was provided by sliding long keys down the shafts created where Zipblocks link together.
Deck flooring.
This picture shows deck flooring being installed onto our prototype deck. We decided to lay out our strips lengthwise as we thought it would look better this way. We could just as easily have laid them out in the other direction. The lugs protruding from deck provide for a snug and secure fit for our wood flooring. Every piece of our flooring snapped into place with ease. When we were done our deck we had a beautiful floor. The plywood Zipblocks that we used to build this prototype deck with would certainly not be ideal for outdoors, but they were easy to work with and helped us create some very nice prototype products.
