Furniture - Custom wooden planter boxes.
Zipblocks are great for building furniture. The planter box shown in this picture was put together without using any tools. This entire box is fully interlocked together. You can pick it up and move it around and it will not come apart unless you deliberately decide to disassemble it. You can click on this link to watch a YouTube video that fully illustrates how this planter was assembled.
We posted pictures on our blog that illustrate all the steps involved in building this planter box. These steps read much the same as the assembly instructions that you get with those toy construction brick kits. Click here to see the assembly steps.
While this planter box is very small, it is easy to visualize building much larger planter-boxes and even other furniture with Zipblocks. Some other things one could build very easily with these blocks might be museum displays, night stands, store shelves, book shelves, displays, tables, wall units, closet organizers, play houses, etc. There simply is no limit to what is possible. No matter what you build, you can always take it all apart and build something else with your parts.
While the wood used to build this planter-box was simply furniture-grade plywood.the planter-box still has a very esthetically pleasing appearance. Just imagine how much nicer it would look if some high grade wood was used.
One last word about this planter-box.as it was made in a regular woodshop it was not fully "trimmed out." It is simply too time consuming to add this much detail to handmade blocks. Were a factory to produce these wooden blocks, this would not be an issue. The ends of factory made blocks could easily be fitted with some nice trim pieces. This would enable one to cover up all the holes that you see in this picture.
